About the Course

This course is designed to introduce the basics of fitness education, focusing on musculoskeletal anatomy and movement. Whether you’re starting with Pilates, other fitness activities, or just want to understand the body better, this course will give you the foundation you need. You’ll explore the key terminology, functional anatomy, and movement language that form the basis of entry-level fitness education. By the end of the course, you’ll have a clear understanding of how the body moves, what muscles are involved, and how to use this knowledge to support your practice and teaching. Note: Trail Guide to the Body 6th Edition by Andrew Biel (Books of Discovery) is used as a resource throughout the course to provide detailed anatomical knowledge.

What people are saying

Real feedback from students who completed the course...

“I completed this course alongside my training with STOTT PILATES and found it incredibly helpful for understanding the foundations of anatomy before starting. It broke complex concepts down in a way that felt easy to follow and gave me a really useful structure for revision throughout my training.”

"I used the Essential Anatomy course to help prepare for my Pilates exams and it was brilliant! The course was very interactive and easy to follow, which made retaining the information much more manageable.  I found having tests at the end of each section really beneficial as it allowed me to utilise the information I'd learned. Out of all the anatomy courses I have done, this was by far the most effective and helped me pass my Pilates exams with confidence. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to pass their functional anatomy exams."
